With her bendir under her arm, singer-songwriter The Leila is a shining appearance full of life. Her voice hovers between soft and powerful, her musical mix between rock, blues and traditional Maghreb music like Ragada, Âarfa, Mechiakha, Gharnati, Ray and Algerian Chaâbi.
Leila was born in Oujda, in eastern Morocco. She grew up in a rich cultural but conservative environment, where she had to fight for her right to pursue her musical passion. She started performing at a very young age and recorded her first single when she was 15. In 2015, Leila formed her first music group Snitra.
