La-33

Colombia

Urban salsa & Latin jazz from the streets of Bogota!

La-33 is a Colombian salsa group founded by brothers Sergio and Santiago Mejia in 2002 and named after an illustrious Bogotà ghetto. The 12-member band is considered one of the best salsa bands from Colombia and gained solid street credibility due to their rock’n’roll attitude, heavy dose of humor and exciting mix of rock, pop and jazz with salsa.

The debut album ‘LA-33’ was a huge success and surprised with original, extroverted salsa with influences from the golden ’70s, boogaloo, Latin jazz and mambo. With their second album “Gozalo,” they continue this course. Their most famous song is La Pantera Mambo, an adaptation of the famous song “Pink Panter” by Henry Mancini.
