Alexandra Archetti & Steinar Raknes

Argentinië, Noorwegen

Norwegian-Argentine duo of vocals and double bass

Singer Alexandra Archetti and double bassist Steiner Raknes perform a unique arrangement of songs from the Latin American world.

Alexandra Archetti – half Norwegian, half Argentinian – has been the director of the important Oslo World music festival for several years. She lost her Argentine father in 2005 and struggled with the question of how to keep her South American roots alive. This question forms the background to her musical debut ‘Malena’.

We only have one life, but in the one life we live, we live many lives. Releasing this record is to me giving life to a dream I’ve carried with me since I was a child. The songs, from the Latin American Songbook, are from my childhood and youth, past and present. This record is a tribute to love, to family, to music, to Argentina.’ Alexandra Archetti

Steiner Raknes is a world-class Norwegian singersongwriter and double bass player (Stillhouse, The Core, Trondheim Jazzorkester). He is known for the rich and original sounds he draws from his voice and double bass, and his pizzicato style inspired by African Kora and American fingerpicking. He has toured all over the world and recorded more than 60 albums, many of them under his own name. In his vocal project STILLHOUSE, he mixes jazz & blues and more, and also worked with Sami music for several years.

The two joined forces to create ‘Malena’, with which they are now coming all the way to Sfinks. Expect a warming, vulnerable and moving concert experience!
